Reid Lanpher of Manchester, Maine, returns to drive the No. 8 JR Motorsports Chevrolet in the Pine Ridge Nursery Twin 125-lap Late Model events at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va., on Saturday, August 10. The 15-year-old Lanpher posted the second-fastest time in final practice at Motor Mile and had a career-best qualifying effort of third at the track when Dirty Dozen Cup first visited the .416-mile speedway earlier this season, and he's hoping to build off of that effort and build some momentum in the second half of the season. Coming off a Top-10 finish at Hickory Motor Speedway in July, Lanpher has been busy during his more than a month away from JR Motorsports – winning one Amsoil NELCAR Legends Tour race and posting four straight Top-2 finishes in the division.
OXFORD, Maine – Reid Lanpher of Manchester, Maine, posted back-to-back podium finishes on the Amsoil NELCAR Legends Tour, finishing second in both the VIP Thursday Thunder 25 at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Thursday, July 18, and the 25-lap event at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Saturday, July 20.
Patrick Prescott came into the Maine State Championship just coming off from a shoulder injury and with only one day of practice. The time off the bike alone would prove to be a hurdle that could make it difficult to run up front early. With those elements in mind everyone was expecting a slow start with hope of getting back up to speed by Sunday.
OXFORD, Maine – Reid Lanpher of Manchester, Maine, failed in his bid to become the youngest driver ever to qualify for the 40th annual TD Bank Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine, on Sunday, July 21. Lanpher spent three days of practice gaining valuable seat time and experience, and the team had the Team EJP No. 59 Eastern Township Docks/Mission Trailers Chevrolet where it wanted it for the start of qualifying. Following the first-round heat race, the team discovered the driveshaft was hitting the rear suspension pieces. It created a handling issue that could not be fixed in time to make the main event.
