2015 will be known as Lane Shorey’s rookie season as an expert. What better way to kick off this campaign then to compete with New England’s top racers at round 2 of the N.E.S.C. Championship at MX-207.
Lane started strong in his first 250A moto (double gated with the pro class) running about mid pack with the Pro class, and second in the A class. Not being used to the long A class motos, as the 30 minute moto continued Lane dropped back in the pack of Experts, but would hold his spot and cross the line in second. Moto 2 looked like it would provide much of the same however, a first turn crash in the 450 A class took its tole on the #141, and the affects started to show late in the moto. He would lose ground on the leaders and finish in fourth. The 2-4 moto scores would prove good enough for a 3rd overall and a successful day at the track.
Patrick Prescott found himself in a totally different situation throughout the race day. Moto after moto Patrick would struggle to get off the line and he would begin all of his motos at the back of the pack. It would not take him long to pick his way through traffic into the top three during the 85C motos. Patrick’s laptimes began to drop as he ran laps just as fast as the leaders towards the end of each moto. The 5 lap motos were too short for the #199 to catch and pass the leaders and a late crash would push him out of the top 10 in moto 2. His scores of 3-11 were good enough for 7th overall.
