To get to the most prestigious race in amateur motocross you must first get through a rigorous qualifying process. Lane Shorey participated in the Broom-Tioga area qualifier a few weeks back and finished in position to get him to the regional in the 450B and College Boy classes. This weekends area qualifier in Winchester NH will challenge him to complete the same task in the 250 B classes. The goal is to go to the Unadilla regional qualifier in as many classes as possible to better the chance at a shot to line up in Hurricane Mills TN this August.
This weekend will also mark Patrick’s first attempt at qualifying for the famous Loretta Lynn Amateur National. 2013 has been a slow year so far for Pat. His last race resulted in two top 5’s even though he has not had much seat time this year. His busy schedule with school has kept him from a full training schedule but that has not scared him away from the Road To Loretta’s.
The weather looks perfect throughout the weekend and the Winchester track always makes for good racing. The latest word is that a few changes have been made to the layout, so practice time Saturday morning will be at a premium. The crew is ready to fly the orange flag high and proud and bring home some hardware!
